Quinoa is a gluten-free seed, high in protein and one of the few plant foods that contain sufficient amounts of all nine essential amino acids. It is also much higher in fibre than most grains. Quinoa contains large amounts of flavonoids, including quercetin and kaempferol. These are potent plant antioxidants with numerous health benefits.

Of all the quinoa colours, white quinoa has the most delicate taste and the lightest texture and it cooks up a bit fluffier than other types of quinoa.
Recommended use: Place 2 cups of water in a wide bottom pan and bring to a boil. Stir in 1 cup quinoa, cover, and return to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes or until all water is absorbed. When quinoa is properly cooked, you can see little curled “tails” emerged from the seeds. Then you can use the quinoa as a base of breakfast bowl, salad or side addition to your meal.
