Einkorn is most popular as the “real wheat” or the “ancient wheat”. It is considered to be the first cultivated plant food. Einkorn is the most primitive form of wheat on Earth. It is richer in proteins and lower in carbohydrates than modern wheat. Also, it contains more vitamins and minerals than the modern wheat. Einkorn is GMO-free, contains less gluten protein and is easier to digest. These are the main reasons to be preferred to wheat. It has a slightly nutty flavor and easily replaces the common wheat in each recipe.
Recommended use: You can use einkorn for bread and bread products, bakery and sweets. People with Celiac disease or extreme allergies to gluten should still avoid einkorn entirely.
